My term project for the introductory computer science course (15-112) was a fitness game called Frankie Runs!

Frankie Runs requires the user’s motion and action to play the game. The user will be embodied as an adorable hedgehog named Frankie where they can control him running, standing, jumping, and crawling. Frankie’s movements can be activated by doing them yourself! When you run in place, Frankie runs, when you jump, Frankie jumps, when you squat, Frankie crawls forward. Using these commands, you can get a great at-home cardio workout and help Frankie avoid obstacles to get to the finish.

The code uses the python computer vision library OpenCV and Pygames. All the images in the game are hand-drawn by me in photoshop. (Inspired by Nina William’s hedgehog Frankie and my own love for running.)
