In this project, I hand drew stimulus checks and created an at-home work environment wrapped in these checks. This project illustrates the barriers of working from home and labeled the action as an elite status. Although remote work reduces the business’s cost, it heightened the cost for its employees and assumes a certain standard of living for all its workers. This assumption was seen in the first round of stimulus checks. As people became unemployed and searched for a safer way to work during the pandemic it was presumed that a $1,200 check was enough.
